For the first time I have created a password using the new dog. By new, I mean that relatively, I’ve had him since December 2022. It just took that long for me to encounter a new password formula. I have already done enough good-byes but there are some ghosts and echoes like password names and clumps of brown hairs in weird-to-reach places.
The old dog, Birddog, was only ever featured on the blog once in Post 14 Detective Comics #666 (1993). Originally I wanted to run this blog pseudo-anonymously and I still loosely stick to that bit but this blog also serves as secret personal diary for me to look back on and she was on her way out. One of the reasons I got into comic books was I had to take myself on walks when she was getting going. My memory can be really bad, especially with getting years correct. I frequently confuse the year I graduated high school with the year I graduated college. I best benchmark by events, and use pictures as a guide, so I know I was in college during Donald Trump’s presidency and I know I had Birddog until Black Panther 2 came out. See? This is still comic content!
Bucky, the new dog, was first featured on SickPanels.com in Post 30 Iron Man #39 (2001). I’ve let Bucky be the closest thing I have to a face on this website. I like to think that this website is a first-person view from my own perspective, and my character is unaware that there would be any desire to see their face or know their name. Just some inside baseball on the comic book blog / diary. Here he is waiting for me outside the comic book store.

A few weeks ago I wrote about appreciating local sandwiches. Recently I went to a few other semi-exotic locations to try their local sandwiches. The best type of sandwich is the sandwich that feels wrong but just works.
